All too often we find our perfectly functional headphones with torn ear pads. You can’t make up your mind to throw it away, and finding a replacement is either too expensive or too much trouble. Therefore you need crocheted headphone cover to rescue. You can easily adopt this pattern to fit your headphones. For the material, wool sock yarn is recommended for its springy texture and thinner fabric, thus better fitting.
Yarn: any weight, sock yarn is recommended
Hook: 3.5mm or smaller to obtain a tighter gauge
Instruction (make 2):
With 3.5mm hook and sock yarn, work in round with magic loop cast on
rnd 1: ch 6, sl st to join 1st st. Pull on short end of yarn to close ring.(6 sts)
rnd 2 (inc): 1ch, (dc2inc) 6 times, sl st to join 1st st. (12 sts)
rnd 3 (inc): 1ch, (1dc, dc2inc) 6 times, sl st to join 1st st. (18 sts)
rnd 4 (inc): 1ch, (1dc, dc2inc) 9 times, sl st to join 1st st. (27 sts)
rnd 5(inc): 1ch, (1dc, 1dc, dc2inc) 9 times, sl st to join 1st st. (36 sts)
rnd 6(inc): 1ch, (1dc, dc2inc, 1dc) 12 times, sl st to join 1st st. (48 sts)
rnd 7(inc): 1 ch, 1 dc in each dc, sl st to join 1st st. (48 sts)
rnd 8(inc): 1ch, (1dc, dc2dec) 16 times, sl st to join 1st st. (32 sts)
rnd 9(inc): 1ch, (1dc, 1dc, dc2dec) 8 times, sl st to join 1st st. (24 sts)
rnd 10 (inc): 1 ch, 1 dc in each dc, sl st to join 1st st. (24 sts)
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Tip: You may repeat rnds 5 & 6 as desired to fit your headphone.
