2020- The Master of All Years

2020, as we groan and meow about you
Even the powerful hissing your existence
And none appreciating your genuineness
I must confess your virtues to mankind
And here called you master of all years

Master of all years, crowned on hilltops
You proof your supremacy over all
Daring kingdoms untouched
You introduced laws never seen
or obeyed in modern history.

Yes, Master of all years
You control boarders beyond globalized empires
Perching and hounding our selfish nature
As you shook us but never failed us
Your end created the light unknown.

Master of all Years,
You made humankind recognized their limitation
Fettered in agony and disbelief,
holding science to ransom
then we yearned for the new normal
one that never existed.

Master of all Years
Though the old normal was never normal
Your fame will never be forgotten
You reminded us all what we forgot
That nature strives in crisis and change.
