A Wave of Emotion

Know Thyself, Heal Thyself

A wave
A sensation
A feeling
Rising strongly

We’re caught in the tide
No life vest
Unable to swim

They rise and fall
We’re trapped
In the current

On the shore
Our silent observer
Who’s always present
Beckoning us
To join him

Do we see him?
Do we know he’s there?

With the waves
Splashing over our heads
The water’s too deep
We believe,
Treading is the only way

The struggle, we believe
It is our cross
It is ours to bear
We must own it

Yet the observer
There on the shore
Always patient
Always waiting in stillness

Do we look upon him?
As a stranger?
As a foe?
As an unknown force?
