Anniversaries

A poem.

When the darkness offers rise to age-old demons and pain,
Like the full moon that draws in the flowing tide,
A storm rumbles from deep inside once again.

I’m paralyzed with tacit fear,
And cry alone in the night,
As another anniversary nears.

My craving for peace,
Is only a distant hallucination,
Of hope that remains unseen.
