Can you know my heart
Without me spelling it out loud?
Can you see through the fire encircling my life
Or is this another tale of ‘maybe in another life?’

Can you know my heart
Without me writing endless paragraphs,
Describing complex drawings in chapters,
And laying them on the table for your eyes?

For which I’ve never been good at that,
And I see the paradox in me

The poet without words
That’s who I am when I stand at
Love & Acceptance’s gates

The flames dispersed to dust my ability to speak
Yet I know you can’t read my heart’s tunes,
You can’t hear my mind’s screams
&
I’m the one with the pen and ink,
But I’m the poet without words

So where does this leave all the hopes within?

Thank you for reading! And a big thank you to Diana C. for creating this safe home for all of us in Know Thyself, Heal Thyself.
