Know Thyself, Heal Thyself

It’s raining right now,
The sky knows how I feel.
Like it doesn’t want to leave me alone,
While I weep.

But here is the thing,
We must keep going.
Like writing through the pain,
Is a way of healing.

You know the times,
When you’re unable to breathe,
Tears cloud your vision,
And you feel incomplete?

That’s precisely when,
You must stare at a blank sheet.
On your phone or journal,
Whatever is the nearest,
To pour your feelings.

Words will come,
They always do.
It starts with a letter,
And your heart will help you through.

That pain that seems to never end,
That expectation that shattered your dreams.
That hope that we cling on to,
Which now seems like a distant memory.

Write through the pain,
Like I am at this moment.
Let it be a living proof,
Of the challenges you faced and triumphed.

Then when you’ll face another challenge,
That wrecks your nerves and messes your breathing.
This documented moment on your phone or journal,
Will remind you of the strength you possess but cannot find at the moment.

Thank you Ravyne Hawke for this thought-provoking prompt. It’s just what I needed right now.

As per the rules, I tag Suma Narayan, LM and Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar to share their journey when they chose to write to heal through the pain.

Thank you Ravyne Hawke, Diana C., Spyder and jules for giving us a safe space to share our raw emotions and help us heal. :)
