A drabble, 100-word tales
When it comes to growing older, I’m counting on my father’s genetics. ’Cause mom’s side is a full-on train wreck. The out-of-control train smashes through the station at 80. It takes a decade to complete the carnage. When it’s done all that remains of the depot is a shell, empty, random pieces of luggage drifting like tumbleweed on the winds of agony and despair.
From Dad’s side, I get the farmer’s creed, keep moving, always a thing needs doing. It’s up and at’em, rise and shine, do or die. I chose do….so I bought the farm.
