Each Person’s Life Is Like A Mandala
Each person’s life is like a mandala — a vast, limitless circle. We stand in the center of our own circle, and everything we see, hear and think forms the mandala of our life. — Perma Chodron
“Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning “circle” and represents the Universe. The pattern within the Mandala is usually balanced and harmonized symbolizing how we are all connected and part of the wider Universe” says Mala Kamala.
The first time I came across an explanation of Mandalas was when I was studying Carl Jung’s work. He believed this concept is symbolic of the inner process by which individuals grow toward fulfilling their potential for wholeness. I resonated deeply with this explanation and I began using it as an expression of the Self. The time and patience it requires is a great analogy for the spiritual journey of discovery and growth.
What about you? What’s your take on Mandalas? Do you find them to have a therapeutic effect?
