Elements of Ageing
With each breath, the skin on your face moved

You are out looking for eyebrows —
or is it simple definition?
My own signs of ageing are at odds
with your own & though my eyesight
is poor, I can still look back
to the time when my own fell out.
Of course, I was drinking heavily
back then, just 20, yet still an anomaly.
I can’t recall what the hospital specialist
told me but cream was applied
& eventually they grew back
despite negligent application.
Are we anxious about getting old?
Will we still be fire, earth, air & water?
Who knows….yet ether calls —
I am not what I was & suddenly soluble
just like your own.
