I read something the other day about the “aha” moment that is meant to be part of the haiku. For this “non-standard” haiku (the rhythm pattern is 4/4/4) that came at the last line.
I was working on self-care, trying to come up with a better grounding mantra, and being more intentional with my balance. I’ve spent too much time “winging it,” which has helped me in some situations and made things more complex at times. This began as a way to embrace creation and life, but I never considered “grounding” to be a celebration of self. But when you think about it, self-care is precisely that. We value who we are, and because we do, we nurture ourselves, and that is what self-care is all about.
So for me, when I take care of myself, when I bind my wounds, I am saying that I am important to me, to my inner child, to all that I am. And I will celebrate myself all the way through this life and into the next. Because I am important, to Love, to my connections, and to me…
