Coming up with the perfect words for a piece creates anxiety, especially when there is a deadline. I have felt that frustration and hesitation to begin when I had a concept but the perfect words wouldn’t come.

The good news is that the first words you put on paper don’t have to be the perfect words and rarely are. The trick is to write whatever comes to mind, and then every time you reread it, make it better. Make one line awesome at a time. Words flow like magic once the heat is off.

My body long ago betrayed, but my mind hath staged a coup after I dared to engage and explore alternative points of view.
