My fascination with space and others has been with me since I first watched Sci-fi B movies and read Asimov, Bradbury, Heinlein, H.G. Wells, Herbert, and many others in my youth. Then there was Captain Kirk and Spock and their adventures, going where no man (or woman) had gone before, with their edict of non-interference.
I love it here on this planet, although sometimes I take this extraordinary as being ordinary, of being mundane, and the starman inside looks longingly at the scintillating flickers. There was a time I cried to the heavens when I was a young man to beam me up. I had had enough of the sufferings of the heart.
That moment of having my atoms scrambled and then rearranged on a starship never happened, yet I have had some tantalizing encounters with flybys.
