He Replaced Me Overnight…Then Came Back
Did he really go through my stuff while I was away?
I feel disgusted.
I feel violated.
But most of all, I feel anger.
Anger that someone would walk into my home, cool as can be, and rummage through my stuff just because they think they can.
That is control for you.
I’ve seen this many times before — his determination to dominate me through threats. And when I didn’t cower at his feet, he would go on a furniture destroying rampage to have me tremble at the sheer primal force that he thought would break me.
When I was granted the divorce, the responsibility of repairing the marital home fell on him, even though I’m the one living in it now. But no repair work is to be done when no one is home.
He ignored that. Thumbed his nose at everyone and snuck in, oh so cunningly, just to snoop. To see who I might be “hiding under my bed.”
How low can a person go — going through your ex-wife’s belongings, probably even her underwear drawer?
I reported the incident to my lawyer, providing them with as much detail as I could.
I can’t file a police complaint since nothing was stolen. And it’s not…
