While growing up, I was always infatuated and obsessed with stories of great and renowned scientists, intellectuals, and inventors — people who have made remarkable achievements and had significant impacts on our lives. To be honest, I have always admired their perseverance, determination, and their undeterred character. Remembering that Thomas Edison had failed around 10,000 times before perfecting the electric light bulb shows us how important it is to keep trying and never giving up. I can go on and mention all those great thinkers, but the key idea is that they all have contributed to something incredible, making this world a better place.

The good thing is that we do not have to be an inventor or a scientist to impact. Nowadays, humanity doesn’t need more inventors or scientists. What it needs is more compassionate and warm-hearted people. In my opinion, we can be whatever we want to be and still can make a lasting impact on people’s lives if we follow these tips:

Tip #1: Forgive Others

Sometimes, it is easier said than done, but it is the best thing that you can do if you want to live a healthy and fulfilling life. “ Weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong”-Mahatma Gandhi.

Tip #2: Volunteer and Help Others

I cannot stress enough how volunteering has changed my life for the better. I think that we, as humans, feel way happier when we give out from our time and material possessions than when we take. This is why I urge you to set aside some time to volunteer whenever you can. Indeed, you’ll be surprised by how satisfied and content you become because of helping others.

Tip #3: Accept Differences

I do believe that it is quintessential to accept our differences. This is because we, as a civilization, cannot move ahead if we don’t accept each other. First and foremost, we are all related to one another through our humanity. Secondly, our subtle differences are what make us unique and special. Our languages, colors, and many other differences are just like distinct and beautiful colors that paint life colorfully and vividly.

In conclusion, I’d love to finish off my piece with the following quote that touches me so powerfully:

“Differences are not intended to separate, to alienate. We are different precisely in order to realize our need of one another.”- Desmond Tutu
