Infatuation is a powerful state of the male heart in which a man lives submerged in his fascination with a woman. He can’t get her out of his mind. He thinks of her day and night, whether they are together or not. His heart races when he thinks he sees her, and it really races when he actually sees her. Often, he is so obsessed with her that he cannot concentrate. Schoolwork goes undone, he becomes ineffective at his job. His mind is swirling with images of her. He daydreams about her. It is as if a spell of enchantment has been cast upon him, and he has lost himself in that spell.
His friends will say he is “whipped.” In many ways he is, and he really doesn’t care. He feels so in love that she is the only thing in the world that matters. He’ll talk about her with anyone that will listen. If he is a musician, he will be inspired to write music. If he is a poet, he will be inspired to write poetry. No matter what, he feels as if he has found his princess. “How could there be life without her?” he might even ask himself. His body is full of light. His being is joyful. He is giddy and gleeful…
