Lessons on Quantity vs Quality from a Pottery Maker
A debate that has been going on for a long time
There was once a pottery maker.
He was a master of his craft. Many wealthy merchants and travelers came from afar to buy his pieces. In addition to selling the pieces that he created, the potter wanted to pass down his skills, so that others could benefit from them as well.
So the potter opened his own school of craft. Students from near and far came to attend his lessons.
One day, the potter decided to run an experiment in his class. So he split the students into two groups.
The first group of students was instructed to produce and submit only one piece of their choice. While the second group of students was instructed to produce multiple pieces and submit only the final piece of their choosing.
The experiment lasted for seven days, after which both groups of students were required to submit their piece of craft to the potter for evaluation.
