Overcoming Anxiety: How I Found Unexpected Peace
Could this be a miracle?
There was a time when I would’ve panicked.
There was a time when my stomach would’ve twisted into itself, twisted into a million notes, folding in on itself, crushing out of the present moment. Except, today I didn’t.
Come to think of it, I haven’t panicked in a while. I haven’t run away from silence.
Instead, I’ve run towards it. I’ve been craving it.
My bedroom feels different. It feels alive. I can hear whispers in the walls, whispers of sweetness.
It’s like the room — the air — is happy that I’m here. The chairs ached for my skin. The carpet yearned for my feet. My bed — I swear — can’t wait to absorb me.
“You should always do yoga in the same place,” I’ve heard Sadhguru say once before.
I may heavily be paraphrasing but the gist of what he said was that when you do yoga in the same place for a long time, the place gains a certain quality — a certain sweetness.
The place becomes concentrated. It becomes a temple.
When you consecrate a space, you are infusing it with positive energy…
