People Wrongly Confuse Jealousy with Envy!
Are these two green eyed emotions the same?
No matter how good or bad we seem to be doing in our lives, there’s always the urge for us to make comparisons to someone else, as if this were a true indication of our own progress.
It is not.
📌 Just because one person manages to accomplish something good under one set of circumstances, doesn’t mean the same thing will apply to you, especially if you don’t execute thing in exactly the same way.
Also, whether we believe things are exactly the same or not, still doesn’t mean that we will have the same outcome.
This can be hard to understand, and possibly lead to those feelings of jealousy and envy, mentioned above.
In the past, I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve had negative feelings of jealousy, that actually evolved, due to focusing on things I used to envy others for having.
Thankfully, through self growth and improvement, I’m not that person anymore.
I’ve been able to succeed in overcoming any occasional bouts of envy, and allowing that success to motivate me to do better.
The key is not allowing my envy to turn to jealousy. When I take control of this,I do just fine.
