The long-time companion of frustration
Helps keep your dreams on the back burner
So you can remain a minimum wage earner

A trusted friend of self-doubt
Because, how could you actually figure things out
Get in line and just stick to the status quo
You ain’t gonna be one to go out and grow

An ally of stress
Ensuring life remains an unfinished mess
So we live in a state of overwhelm
With no competent leader at the helm

Through this process we live victimized
Feeling powerless and marginalized
Blaming our welfare on our mental health state
Like we have no choice and this is our fate
All because we choose to wait
Like someone will save us from life’s blind date
We let our feelings dictate
We lose when we take their bait

Trusting your feelings
May just keep you reeling
You may need to put your nose
No matter what your feelings impose
To the grindstone
Go out into the unknown
Dance with the boundary of what you’re made of
And share with the world what you truly love
