HAIKU SERIES | MEDITATION | SPIRITUALITY
A poetic response to Creative Corner Edition Nº6
stagnate little pond
still, silent — never inhales
no exhales either
rushing river roars
your constant, hurried exhales
no time for inhales
O swampy waters
your beasts within stir inhales
yet smothers exhales
meditating — in and out
I can breathe with you

I experienced the Universe conspiring to make this Haiku series happen this weekend — Diana’s prompt and a conversation that I had with my friend and Reiki Master, Claire. We talked about the difference between the breathing of the ocean and rivers — how rivers only exhale and exhale, endlessly; while the ocean breathes rhythmically in and out, and the magic of the pauses between each breath. Thank you, Universe!
