Shadow Warrior
Embracing the Hidden: Lessons from the Shadow Warrior
The student said,
“Master, teach me about the shadow.”
The Master begins,
“Shadow, sweet child,
Is longing for the light,
Longing to be whole,
longing for peace.
But it has lost its way.
It knows not the way,
Yet the way is within.
Fear not the shadow.
Treat it not with disdain.
But as a young and naïve innocent,
Misguided in its delusion of pain
Which is not real.
That is not to say it has no power,
For it can surface and cause disruption.
It can influence silently,
In the background,
Your thoughts and actions,
Out of fear.
Sit with it
Lovingly
In the garden of your heart.
