Shakiness in Perception

Creative Corner Edition Nº11 Prompt

But I thought it this way,
No, you were wrong.

How would I know,
That’s what you thought?

That’s the shakiness in perception,
What is black to you is white to me.

This is why most things are grey,
Both are right in equal quantities.

I am right you are wrong,
This battle leads to nowhere but pointless agony.

Perception is a tricky game,
Which is won only if we communicate.

Trust but verify,
Isn’t that what people say?

Sometimes what we perceive is so baffling,
The rational mind goes on a holiday.

Then what we perceive seems like the gospel truth,
If only we stop listening to our ego that blinds us from the truth.

We must know both sides of a story,
For then we can avoid unwanted misery.

Perception is indeed a mind game,
Those that seek the truth survive to tell the real tale.

Thank you Diana C. for another thought-provoking prompt. It made me think that sometimes what we perceive to be the truth is far away from the REAL truth.
