The weather in Mumbai has never been better. The pleasant cool winds make everything feel cosy. It’s the perfect weather for hot chocolate and watching your favourite movie while tucked into your warm bed.

It’s as if the weather is forcing you to slow down. To take it easy. To let go of the constant rush of completing your to-do list and just be. From another perspective, it could appear as you being lazy. But why must slowing down and cutting some slack be seen as a sign of laziness?

Last Friday at work, I had a list of things to complete. After completing a huge chunk of that list, there was one task that came up towards the end of the day. Being Friday and the weekend mood kicking in, I knew that if I started that task, I would do it halfheartedly. And so instead of beating myself up, I requested my manager if I could deliver the task on Monday if it wasn’t that urgent. He said it’s totally fine, and I sighed in relief.

Listening to your heart and just being honest about what you feel like doing isn’t a sign of laziness. Rather, it’s giving yourself the opportunity to relax and then get back with better energy and output.
