The Cycle of Life Is Closely Tied to The Seasons
The seasons come and go, and none have remained past their time
In Ghana, we do not know spring, summer, fall, or winter. The weather is always warm and all we know are the two seasons: the wet and the dry season.
The wet season, also known as the rainy season, typically runs from May to October and is known for its heavy rainfall. This is a time of growth and abundance, where crops and plants thrive.
The dry season, also known as the harmattan season, runs from November to March and is characterized by dry and hot winds blowing from the Sahara Desert. This is a time of dormancy, where plants and animals adapt to the dry conditions and prepare for the next rainy season.
The rainy season is coming to an end in Ghana. The grounds are still wet, crops are thriving, and farmers are getting ready to harvest their crops. The rain has nourished the earth, and farmers are the guardians who brought forth sustenance from the soil.
As a new farmer, I’m learning so much about the seasons and cycles of life.
The seasons come and go, and none have remained past their time. Just like life and death.
