It was a happy and slow epiphany, not a shocking jolt of understanding. This epiphany slowly dawned on me… like a crystal growing in my mind.

I understood WHY meditation and yoga permit us to change our subconscious habits and memorized emotions that we call ‘our personality’.

And in those very same moments, I also realized that I cannot skip yoga classes or I’ll never stop running up the down escalator in life…

How The Brain Learns

It dawned on me that when we learn something new, our frontal cortex is heavily utilized for processing the new skill. After we’ve mastered it, the skill is delegated to a subconscious part of the brain, allowing us to perform these actions without explicit thought.
