The Pretty Things that Greet my Eyes
Every time we find beauty in our surroundings, it’s a projection of the beauty that comes from within
After a day in Paris, I am in awe of the beautiful things that greet my eyes everywhere. You may be nodding your head and thinking “I’ve been there, it’s just a city like any other”, and you’re right. But the beauty is in the small, seemingly insignificant details.
It’s on the metro, when you notice a gentleman in Levi’s jeans, a plain blue jacket, and Oxford shoes, and marvel at how deeply absorbed he is in solving this week’s crossword puzzle. It’s in the loving gaze between an elderly French couple sitting at a table for two in a chic, intimate French brasserie. It’s in the berets and long coats worn by women walking their French bulldogs down the Rue Saint-Dominique. It’s the Eiffel Tower at night, with its twinkling lights and intricate latticework.
Over the years, I’ve noticed that our perception of beauty is deeply intertwined with our inner state. I believe that when we see beauty in the world around us, it’s more than just an objective observation, but a reflection of our own inner magic.
When we are filled with love, joy, and gratitude, we are more likely to see beauty in everything around us, whereas when we are feeling negative…
