“There’s a Storm Coming In…”
Are you ready?
At the end of the brilliant movie “The Terminator,” a man running a gas station in the middle of the desert says these words in the title above to the character Sarah Connor. She answers: “I know.” The scene, the last one in the film, is one of the most powerful I can remember. I think of it often.
Why? Because it is a reminder of what we can do versus what we will do. The words are not about the storm but about being present with the knowledge the storm is approaching and knowing it is a precursor to Armageddon.
Unless someone wants to stop it from happening. Unless someone can stop it from happening.
This world of ours is on the brink of making that decision, one way or the other. I have no control over the desire of leaders and soldiers to destroy other people. I cannot stop those in power from furthering their terrible agendas they seem hell-bent on. I cannot stop the people anywhere who support those dark agendas, be they large or small.
And I don’t understand the desire for dark power.
BUT I do know in my corner of the world, here now in this moment in time, I am present and, in this moment, I have been given a great gift — the power to do my work with love. I know how to do that.
