Uncorking the Cork
The smell of the sea
You roar when you get brave.
You cry when you get goosebumps.
You smell of salt and sea.
You contain yourself; God knows how!
Your depth shelters us
Just like we are born
In a salty sea.
Don’t cross my path!
Because I contain you all
And even though you all have me
Sometimes you forget me.
I am water.
I would like to quench your thirst
Thirst for tenderness
Thirst for bitterness
Thirst for the dead desert.
You imagine things that you remember.
Vaguely, when you wake up
But you rarely remember
Of your nights when the water
It contains churns and overflows.
You have tears in your eyes.
Of when you got lost
And you were afraid of being alone.
Now you have me
In front of you
Whispering in your ear
Your favorite song.
