For many years, my family would travel to New York City the week before Christmas. It was a combination work/play trip. Our daughter would stay at the hotel on Saturday night while we attended dinner at the 21 Club.

Lauren thought is was the height of luxury to order room service. She would order dinner and wait for the knock on the door. Food served on a tray and brought to her room — she was happy and content.

It occurred to me one day that I could do the same thing — except instead of placing an order for food, I could place an order for my soul’s desires.

I call it Soul Service.

Before I explain the process, you have to understand the difference between “wanting” and your soul’s desires.

The difference between wanting and your soul’s desires

“Wanting” is a product of our consumer culture. We are told incessantly that we’re not enough unless we buy this product or that service. The number of advertising messages we receive daily is shocking — between 6,000–10,000!
