You Did Not Fail, Dear Child
I know you had a vision of how things were “supposed” to be.
You poured your life’s energy into something,
Believing it was your sole purpose.
You were methodical,
Focused, driven, and obsessive.
There were plans and timelines and expected outcomes.
But try as you might,
The circumstances were out of your control.
You gave it your all,
But it wasn’t meant to be.
Give yourself permission to grieve your dismantled plans.
Feel the feelings you shoved down, locked away for safekeeping.
Now is the time to release them, express them fully.
Scream them out loud.
Cry until you’re gasping for breath.
You did not fail, dear child.
You learned through experience,
Strengthened and forged by flames.
Understanding purpose ebbs and flows,
Shifting through time and space.
Your purpose is not in the doing.
It’s in the essence of your being.
In accepting what is,
And letting go of what was.
