You May Give Up on Your Manifestations — But Do They Give Up on You?

The moment you give up, the next day, it gives you a reason to keep going.

‘Breathe in, breathe out. Focus on your breath and feel the sensations developing in your body’…

As I listen to this guided meditation in the morning, I try to focus on how all of this feels. Eventually, once ten minutes are over, I slip into an unguided meditation where it’s only me and my thoughts. It takes a few minutes to get my wandering mind to settle until a sinking feeling seems like a free fall.

Suddenly you are in a zone of utter silence. You feel the vibrations of the soothing sound you hear while you breathe, and consciously or unconsciously, you begin to see images. These images could be your deepest desires, how you feel now or something that you thought you had forgotten long ago but now has come back for you to deal with.

The Wait Is Never-ending

Some images are the things you manifest intentionally. That exotic location you want to be at, that book you want to write, that conversation you wish to have. You intentionally visualise yourself in the most favourable circumstances and see yourself enjoying a positive outcome. Now, there is nothing wrong with seeing yourself in a happy place. That’s precisely why meditation soothes that anxiety leaving you feeling refreshed, and motivates you to face your day ahead head-on. But when you begin to visualise the same thing every day because you want it so much and then the wait seems never-ending, sometimes you want to give all of it up and then forget all about it.

Like the ebb and flow of life, the wait of manifestations is killing. Now we all know that to wish for something means that we need to work towards it. There is no way that things will fall from the sky. But what when you work towards it day and night, and nothing works. All hard work leads to a dead-end, and you feel like giving up? It’s natural to feel this way as sometimes even patience levels have a threshold point.

This Is It — Are You Sure?

So, one day you finally decide, this is it. You tell yourself that no matter what I do, nothing seems to work. Maybe this is a sign from the universe that I must let this go and relieve myself from constant anxiety and frustration.

The next day, the sun is up. Cool breeze washes over your face. You plug in your earphones and play soothing music. You feel relieved that the pressure of achieving your manifestation is no longer there, and you feel light. Breathe in, breathe out and slowly drop into silence.

Until you open your eyes in a flash, you keep seeing the images of what you have been visualising all along. You try to think of something else. You try to focus on a new happy place. But no matter what you do, you keep seeing yourself achieving the very same dream that you just gave up on a few hours ago.

It Keeps Coming Back

Now, is this a sign too that you must not give up?

Manifestations, I realised, are a funny thing. You may give up all your hard work because you don’t see the light and constantly work in the dark tunnel. But somehow, the universe refuses to give up on your dreams. You feel that it’s a one-way street. But if that dream is yours, there will be signs. Signs where the moment you let it go, it comes back to push you even harder.

Life has a funny way of delivering signs. Signs in emotions, conversations, books, people, food, long walks, you name it. You wouldn’t think that there is a subtle sign hidden somewhere we are ignorant to see in the most monotonous moments of life. That’s when in moments of stillness, you receive epiphanies that you cannot give up because you are so near.

Manifestations Become a Part of You

I have moments, and I am sure many of us do too, where we feel like screaming in moments such as:

  • When nothing makes sense.
  • When the wait seems never-ending.
  • When all your effort leads to a dead end.
  • When you work hard and leave no stone unturned, you don’t receive anything that is the slightest bit rewarding.

But manifestations, I realised, have a strange pattern that may or may not apply to all.

  • First, you keep painting a picture of your desired outcome.
  • Second, you don’t need to focus on it too hard as now the image paints itself naturally.
  • Third, you don’t focus on it, but somehow it makes its way.
  • Fourth, you don’t want to think about it as it hurts and you weep.
  • Fifth, no matter how hard you try, it comes back to remind you that you must not give up because now it’s a part of you.

All this may seem gibberish and utter nonsense. Some may wonder she has no idea what she is talking about. You may be right. But think about it just for once. Have there been times when you tore away that pamphlet to see it again? Did you give up trying that recipe ten times and then happen to see a trick to get it right? Did you promise yourself to never talk to that person again, only to meet them years later?

We think we need to give up on our manifestations because there seems to be no sign of positivity whatsoever. But if it comes back, there is definitely something we need to continue working on. Because for all you know, we were just one morning away from it coming true. So, get up, dust yourself and get to work, now!
