In the second of our series of pieces from Knowbella Tech advisers, Jeffrey S. Wallace envisages a future in which we make the most of human knowledge and scientific potential.

In my varied professional life, I am fortunate to serve as a Business Adviser, Investor, Assistant Professor and Negotiator. (LinkedIn Jeffrey S. Wallace)

I have been teaching at an institution of higher education in Utah since 2012 and have seen first-hand how inefficient higher education institutions are at providing useful information to the world (other than in the classroom, of course!).

Sure, there are thousands of academic journals and publications with millions of articles that have been published to help in the advancement of science and the progression of humanity, and we are grateful for this. However, if you were to spend very much time around university and college professors on campus, you’d probably notice all of our research, data, articles, and other information that have been gathered, analyzed and written, but for a host of possible reasons have not been published anywhere. As a result, nobody is benefiting from this work.

We call this information intellectual property (IP), and the magnitude of the problem associated with all of this dormant IP could only be measured if we could see the difference between where we currently are as a society and where we could be had scientists, researchers, and inventors had the opportunity to more effectively share information and collaborate with each other in order to synergistically press forward. What a waste of potential power and lack of potential advancement we are realizing!

Its ability to effectively solve these problems with the use of new technology is why I believe that Knowbella Tech is perfectly positioned to help change the world and the reason why I am elated to witness it, let alone be a part of it. There are too many details to discuss in such a short article, but here are a few other summary points that are my personal favorite reasons why my colleagues at every institution of higher learning on the planet should be familiar with and supportive of Knowbella Tech’s scientific collaboration platform.

  • By creatively using blockchain technology and Knowbella Tech’s “Helix” token, applying for grants and managing the funds for important research will be much, much easier for us.
  • The Knowbella Platform provides its contributors with economic rewards (Helix Tokens) for participating in collaborative research, referring colleagues, starting new projects, adding content, peer reviewing, publishing, and other activities. These Helix tokens are backed with the equity of the company so that all participants will become token holders and will also benefit from the increased value of the whole ecosystem. Gone will be the days of researchers having to pay money in order to publish, but will instead be paid for their work by the very community that wants it!
  • By “open sourcing” intellectual property, all scientists, researchers, and other creative minds can easily build upon each other’s work and more easily and effectively “stand on the shoulders of giants.”

From my perspective, Knowbella Tech is simply helping people to most effectively apply natural “principles of creative cooperation”, as Dr. Stephen R Covey explains in his life-changing book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. He explained that if you secure two wooden boards together then they can hold much more weight than the total of the weight that each could hold separately. Dave Ramsey explained the same natural principle in his amazing book EntreLeadership, explaining that one Belgian draft horse can pull 8,000 pounds, but that when two of them are pulling together, they can pull as much as 32,000 pounds.

As a society, we have made significant progress with the development of tools like the printing press and the internet that has enabled us to more effectively learn from each other. In my opinion, Knowbella Tech is the synergistic tool that will help our society progress to a degree that we are currently unable to imagine.

I predict that the future societal, technological, and scientific advancements that will occur as a result of the collaboration within the Knowbella platform will result in us looking back at 2018 and wondering how we ever survived in such primitive circumstances. Not only am I excited to be an adviser for Knowbella Tech, I’m simply excited to participate by collaborating with others as we use the platform together to change the world.
