Dreams That Run Down

To the sea

The walls of one home
are too small
they can’t hold
all the world you wish for,
each dream
needs a voice and the wings,
the will to fly
and rise above
the purple clouds.

What if you go out to meet sea
run to hold tides
in sand of handshakes
and embraces,
the possibilities in twilight
turned to sunset
in underworld?

You can find love again
the loss need not stay
as a dark place
in memory
and who you are.

Change now into a future that beholds
glimmers of ever-glowing memory
live once more in thoughts
of love,
drive out despair
you are the one
building a wall of ivy that lets wind
come in, have tea, and play
making soul merry
to be here and now,
the place you choose to treasure
your future destiny.
