Each of these projects, to varying degrees, involves the private sector. As part of the government’s Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, they have invested heavily in infrastructure and partnered with major investors, including Cleveland Clinic, General Electric and Airbus.
The Abu Dhabi Global Market financial free zone was also launched last month on Al Maryah Island. Many of the private businesses setting up are small and medium enterprises (SMEs), an area the government has been particularly eager to foster.
