At a time when the UAE is vying to become a ‘knowledge’ society, the state of the education sector ought to be of the greatest importance.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, made the point succinctly when he announced an $82bn plan to advance the country’s knowledge economy in November.
“Creating sustainable wealth for the coming generation will depend on science, knowledge, technology and innovation,” he said.
