Millennials (usually defined as those born between 1983 and the late 1990s) are in a unique position. They are on track to be the most highly-educated generation to date. Technology is second-nature to them. They have all of these advantages, and in addition, an overwhelming bent towards change-making.

As per the 2014 Millennial Impact Report, 92% of millennials are contributing their creative skills to companies they see making a positive impact on the world. In addition, 80% donate to charities, while 87% believe in corporate social responsibility.

A common criticism of this generation is that they are too self-centered or narcissistic. What we’ve found, however, is that they are very self-aware, which spurs a need for self-improvement. And of course, self-improvement goes hand-in-hand with improving the world.

External pressures are also behind their push for change: “Many early [millennials] went through post-secondary education only to find themselves employed in unrelated fields or underemployed and job hopping more frequently than previous generations.” according to the definition of millennial.

Thus, this generation is a marinating hotbed of talent, innovation, and activism. Many young people between the ages of 18 and 35 are steeped in potential, yet have no idea what to do with their lives. That’s why we want them to find us, so they can find each other. The lost geniuses, the round pegs in square holes; entrepreneurs, visionaries, and inventors. The engineers of the future. These are the very people that when presented with time, space, and the raw materials to make something happen, they deliver in the most powerful yet unexpected ways. This legacy will soak into society on all its levels.

A new mindset is at work here.

That’s why we’re asking your help to boost our Thunderclap. All you have to do is click this link, and sign up via Facebook or Twitter.
