Community call

Join us on 01 July at 8pm (BST) for our next Community Call

We would love to hear your thoughts on how we can empower our artists, collectors and users to make KnownOrigin a community first platform.

We will cover the following topics during the community call;

How can we make KnownOrigin a community run platform?
How might we rewarded and incentivise people for being part of the our community?
How can we enable our artists, collectors and users to have a say in the future direction of KnownOrigin?

This will take place on the new KnownOrigin Discord via the inbuilt voice channel with chat support for Q&A also.

Decentraland gallery launch party

The official launch of the KnownOrigin gallery happened this week in the popular blockchain virtual game Decentraland. The GENESIS ART WEEK kicked off this week in DCL with a series of gallery openings, shows and immersive exhibitions.

The Crypto Art community come out in force to support and enjoy this new endeavour. Decentraland is a great environment for people to experience and view digital artwork and to discover the very best digital artist.

We had a big turn out for the opening with around 172 POAP tokens(Proof of Attendance Protocol) collected at the entrance. We were thrilled to see the gallery fill up and everyone enjoying the artwork on display.

One of our highlights was the impromptu top floor party with attendees dancing to the awesome track PICTURE ME ROLLIN IN DECENTRALAND by MetaVerse2020 Productions.

We worked with the team at DCL to create our futuristic build, we have a great location just on the edge of Soho road adjacent to MakersPlace.

We plan to regularly update the space with new exhibition and curated shows throughout the year and you will be able to visit the KnownOrigin gallery 24/7.

Like all parties there was a tiny bit of drama, as we had an issue with the automatic doors, but overall we felt that the event was a big success. We would like to thank everyone to coming along and we look forward to seeing you at the next show.

MoCDA Partnership announced

We officially announced our strategic partnership with MoCDA this week. This collaboration with MoDCA will help us discover, on-board and educate more awesome artists for KnownOrigin. This partnership is part of a wider strategy to grow our platform and expand our artist and collector roster.

We are also looking to MoCDA to help us accelerate curated content and artistic narratives across KnownOrigin. This will be achieved with a series of initiatives focused on virtual exhibitions, online events, MoCDA curated art selections and weekly/monthly artist highlights.

MoCDA have an incredible reputation in both the digital and traditional art world and we are excited to have MoCDA as a partner.

Pioneering artists Mattia Cuttini x Skygolpe announced a new artwork & release date this week.

The exclusive artwork is the second chapter of their collection is another impactful piece. They intend to explore the metaphoric association between the intrinsic meaning that stands behind Bitcoin market dominance and the universal concept of dominance intended as the quality of being more important, strong, or successful than anything else of the same type.

Moxarra Gonzaleze’s Mephixto Punk sells out in record time

This past week see saw — Mephixto Punk an artwork by Moxarra sells out in less than 15 minutes! This is another KnownOrigin record, the artwork is a limited edition of 10 and 5 collector manage to purchase this awesome piece before they all sold out. The artwork is the third in the series taking inspiration from the iconic Garbage Pail Kids Topps card earning the artist just over $350 with each edition selling for 0.16 ETH ($35.72).

KnownOrigin X @CADAF 2020

CADAF 2020 ran from June 25–28 over this past week and KnownOrigin had two artworks for the exhibition. This highly acclaimed art fair has a global reputation for showcasing the very best in digital and contemporary art.

This year KnownOrigin + MoCDA showcased Strike A Pose №1 by artist Twistedsister and DEEP — OUTFIT 04 Wind by digital fashion house The Fabricant . CADAF 2020 had amazing mix of speakers, events, workshops and galleries on show at this years event.

The full program went online this due to the global pandemic, this change actually made the event more accessible and ultimately brought more people together. We look forward to see if they continue this format In 2021.

Highest sold artwork this week

KnownOrigin’s highest sold artwork this week was Undeniable by artist Frenetik Void. This rare 1 of 1 artwork sold for 6.00 ETH ($1356.96) picked up by collector 168.eth.

Top selling artist this week

KnownOrigin’s top selling artist this week is The Fabricant . This digital fashion house saw multiple sales this week, their most recent DEEP OUTFITS collection has attracted global attention after featuring at MoCDA x CADAF. This artist raised just over $1140.00 in sales in the past 7 days.
