We have officially partnered with acclaimed artist Franky Aguilar to bring ‘Certificates of Authentication’ to the public blockchain.
This new venture will see the first digital Certificate of Authentication tokenised on KnownOrigin replacing the tradition signed paper documents that are normally used by galleries and artists to prove ownership of their artwork.
Franky Aguilar is a practicing artist and has been working in the tech industry for the past 15 years, now living and working Las Vegas. Franky has recently opened a new gallery / studio where he is producing and selling physical artworks.

KnownOrigin is an artist focused platform built on the ethereum blockchain that makes it easy for artists to authenticate, showcase and sell the digital artwork.
After launching in early 2018 KnownOrigin has now established a strong position in the NFT (non-fungible token) space and is one of the most respected blockchain gallery platforms.
This partnership will allow Franky to send a Certificate of Authentication that is fully backed by blockchain technology to anyone that buys one of his physical artworks. This new approach will mean that the provenance, authenticity and proof of ownership is indisputable.
The creation of the NFT certificate can only be done by the artist via the KnownOrigin platform. This process creates a unique transaction hash number that Franky will then manually write onto the physical canvas which directly links this body of work to the Certificate of Authentication, much like an artist signature.
Transferring ownership of the physical piece along with the Certificate of Authentication will ensure the chain-of-custody for the collector and any future owners.
Franky Aguilar has an ambitious goal; He will be aiming to have 1 million dollars worth of Art on the blockchain by summer 2020. This would mean that Franky would complete almost 50 pieces of artwork and this collection and each piece would have an official Certificate of Authentication.
