As summer winds down, crowded destinations look forward to local living, parents catch a break as kids head back to school, and fall trends hit our newsfeeds. Now that the warm-weathered excitement leaves us behind, it’s time to make some fall-friendly updates to your agent website.

Set the tone for your autumn real estate season, and complete these four easy agent website updates in fifteen minutes.

  1. Jump into Fall. Switch up the content on your front page, with local imagery depicting the season. A quick photo upload or video swap on your splashy header section will seem like your entire website got a refresh.

Some swapping ideas:

  • aerial photos and video of the leaves changing
  • a new photo of a recently sold home as the background image for a special testimonial
  • a new header or footer style to go with the new imagery

2. Curate Content. Be an expert in your market. Identify the seasonal events and happenings around town. Create a “Things to Do” or “Around Town” page to create curated lists, or even just write a simple blog post.

Fun fall activities include:

  • Back-to-school resources and deals
  • Discuss the best schools in the area
  • Pumpkin patch & carving contests
  • Fall recipes and local ingredients from the farmer’s market
  • Halloween events, haunted houses, and costume parties
  • Deals, steals and DIY ideas for Autumn decor

With all of these themes, there is an opportunity to engage local business owners and experts to discuss tips and tricks for the season; i.e. the best pumpkin recipe from a local chef, design ideas from an interior decorator, or how to pick the best pumpkin from a seasoned farmer. Not only will you have the benefit of cross-promotion, you will be able to reach people outside your immediate network by showcasing another person/business.

3. Open Houses. Drop and drop the timeline section into your Open House page to deliver a schedule of upcoming events. Add a photo of colorful, fallen leaves or pumpkins to the background image. Drop in the lead capture form and prompt users to sign up for your newsletter to be notified of upcoming Open Houses.

4. Summer Recap. Last but not least, whip up a quick little blog post detailing your summer successes. Grab happy one-liners from clients who found their dream home, moved off to a new adventure, or learned how to be a first time homebuyer. At the end, include some personal highlights to offer insight into your personality, and willingness to meaningly connect with people.

Take advantage of seasonal opportunities to do a website refresh, showcase your market, and celebrate your wins.
