A dedicated post on shared security of Koinex user accounts

At Koinex, the safety and security of your information and funds is our top priority. Over the past few weeks, we have observed growing concerns over security of user accounts. This article aims at educating users of our efforts and users’ shared accountability and responsibility in the security of their Koinex accounts. We keep sharing important updates regularly, only through our official channels (Facebook, Twitter and Koinex Crunch). We request our users to only consume information about Koinex from these official channels and subscribe to always stay updated.

Information provided by our users is secured end-to-end. We have incorporated, installed and developed a horde of security features on the platform. However, this alone may not be sufficient to ensure the complete security of your account. The responsibility for the security of your account lies as much with our users as it lies with us. A user has complete control around signing in or out of the Koinex account, identity and access management.

It is in the interest of the security of your account that we are sharing the best practices and guidelines for enhanced safety:

• Refrain from sharing your passwords, OTPs and other sensitive information linked with your Koinex Account and strictly avoid keeping one password for multiple apps (as that may unintentionally facilitate unauthenticated access to your account)
• Keep updating your passwords every two months and ensure that it is confidentially stored for safe recovery by you alone
• Be vigilant and aware of phishing emails/ links and avoid downloading suspicious/ unofficial apps or extensions from unverified sources, as malware may result in compromising security of your account
• Make sure to use additional security features like Google Authenticator for two step authentication for every important action on Koinex
• Avoid signing in to your Koinex account from unknown or unrecognized devices
• Please educate yourself that we do not call our users to ask them for their confidential sign in information, bank account details, wallet addresses among other sensitive data. Please beware of such fake calls
• Keep yourself updated with the information shared on our social media handles (Facebook and Twitter)

We hope that following these simple but essential steps and sharing the responsibility of securing your account will reduce the possibility of any unforeseen attack/ compromise of your account/ information. In case of compromised security, you will have the full support of Koinex team, from investigation to recovery, wherever possible.
