Supporting BitTorrent Airdrop and adding a new trading pair to the INR market
TRON hodlers, we have exciting news for you!
Koinex is officially supporting the upcoming BitTorrent airdrop and will be distributing the tokens to all the eligible users. The airdrop will take place as per the updates from the BitTorrent foundation.
The first snapshot for the airdrop will be taken when the block height of TRX reaches 6.6 million. This is expected to happen on 11th February 2019. Based on this snapshot, BitTorrent Foundation will initiate its first airdrop of 10,890,000,000 BitTorrent (BTT), corresponding to 1.1% of total circulating supply. Over the next six years, the percentage of airdrop will increase by 0.1% per year, reaching 1.7% in 2025 according to the following timeline:
- March 11, 2019 — February 11, 2020: 990,000,000 every month
- March 11, 2020 — February 11, 2021: 1,072,500,000 every month
- March 11, 2021 — February 11, 2022: 1,155,000,000 every month
- March 11, 2022 — February 11, 2023: 1,237,500,000 every month
- March 11, 2023 — February 11, 2024: 1,320,000,000 every month
- March 11, 2024 — February 11, 2025: 1,402,500,000 every month
All airdrops will take place on 11th of each month. At the moment the final ratio for the airdrop is approximately 1 TRX = 0.11 BTT. However, this ratio is not fixed as it is dependant on the variable rewards and the burn rate.
Tron foundation announced the creation of BTT tokens at the beginning of this month and since then the cryptocurrency community has greeted it with a largely optimistic outlook. On 28th January, the foundation conducted a sale on Binance launchpad where the tokens were sold out in 18 minutes. Looking at the prospects of the project and to aid our users in trading with these tokens, we are introducing the BTT/INR trading pair to our exchange. The exact dates for the same will be announced in further updates.
How to receive the tokens from the airdrop
After BitTorrent takes a snapshot of the TRX ledgers, and we receive the BTT tokens, we will distribute it to all users holding TRX at the time of the snapshot (Hint: There is a surprise in store for you). The exact time of the snapshot will be announced soon.
There is no minimum limit for the number of tokens a user has to keep in the Koin wallet to be eligible for the airdrop. However, to ensure the fact that the airdrop reaches all the eligible users, we request you to keep your TRX in your wallets with a few days to spare.
