Moses placed the staffs before the LORD in the tent of the covenant law. The next day Moses entered the tent and saw that Aaron’s staff, which represented the tribe of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds. (Numbers 17:7–8, NIV)

It is assumed that the staffs referred to in Numbers were made from wood. They must have been dried (devoid of water). Yet that of Aaron blossomed, defying all natural laws.

One thing Moses did was that he presented the staffs before the Lord, and the Lord breathed life into Aaron’s.

Dear Lord,

There is nothing impossible for you. Like Moses did, I present to you seemingly impossible situations from previous years. I trust that this year, streams of water will burst out from a dry land.

Amen!
