In 4Him’s song, A Strange Way to Save the World, the lyrical story is told from Joseph’s perspective.

Why me?
Why Him?
Why here?
Why her?

God had tried to save the Israelites for hundreds of years. Still, they rebelled, ignoring the God who’d shepherded them so long. They waited for the promised Messiah, their mighty ruler.

But God chose a quiet, gentle way to show His love. Of course, we know God’s ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8).

A faithful earthly father.
A baby boy.
A lowly stable.
A godly teenager.

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. (Matthew 1:24–25, NIV)
