All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. (John 6:37, NIVUK)

There is a story about a mission in a primitive country, where doctors and nurses attempted to save lives by teaching about good hygiene and nutrition, along with providing simple medical care. A mercy mission, it was built on the Man of Mercies, and His teachings.

The mountains in the land provided food, streams, shade, and lumber to the people living in the valleys. Explorers of the heights had told the stories of conquest. But no one had ever climbed one of them — Tangled Mountain — and returned to tell of it. Dangers were up there, including a dangerous tribe.

One missionary decided he would climb Tangled Mountain and convinced a young local to guide him. The young guide had heard of the language spoken atop the mountain and knew some of it. He began to feel excited to lead his first mission.

Not for naught was it named “Tangled”. Machetes were as important as good boots and snake leggings for this climb. Difficulties mixed with humorous happenings laced the adventure of a lifetime. At last, they reached the top and could smell the stench of human poverty and filth.
