Appreciating the Little Things
The secret to multiplication
In today’s competitive world, getting caught up in the web of selfishness and an unending thirst for more is likely. Sometimes we focus on the things that are not working while overlooking the small yet significant moments that truly matter.
The dawn of a new day, the tiny raindrops, the amateur drawing from our little one, the smell of fresh coffee, or the opportunity of just being alive to open an empty fridge.
When we focus on the seemingly little things around us, our perspective moves from what is lacking to what we already have.
Our ability to be thankful for the things we have could shift our perspective, revealing that true wealth lies in what we already possess.
Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied (Mark 6:41–42, NIV)
Jesus also had to thank God for the little he had, before it became more.
