Scriptures:

John 13:1–35, Psalm 116:1–19, Exodus 12:1–14

John 13:1–35

Three times in this passage Jesus said, “I knew”. In verse one, three and 11, He spoke these words.

This tells me this week in history — Passion Week — was planned by God.

Jesus tells us time and again to:

Love God
Love others

In this passage, He shows His love by washing the disciple’s feet. As a Servant-King Jesus teaches His disciples to love others.

Psalm 116:1–19

This is a Psalm of crying out to God for help. There are many Psalms like that.

But there is so much else in this passage. Once again The Message version spoke to me.

God listens to us

I love God because he listened to me,
listened as I begged for mercy. (Psalm 116:1, MSG)

Walking with God is being alive

I’m striding in the presence of God…
