Bank Balance Is Low and Payday Is Ten Days Away

But Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow

This is a true, short testimony timeline of how God provided for me one September in 2003.

This wasn’t the only time He has done so, but this was one of the times that really stood out in my memory enough that I took the time to write it down.
I hope you find it encouraging, for as He has done, and is still doing for me, He will also do for you who believe, trust and have faith in Him and His word.

Tuesday, September 9th
I had $11.78 in my checkbook. No cash on hand. Payday was not until the 19th.

How would I make it for ten days on $11.78 I wondered.

I would need to buy gas for the car at least twice, which would be a total of $20.00, plus I would need other necessities like milk, water, etc.

But God kept dropping me pennies and dimes…so I thanked Him and believed that He would help me financially — somehow.

(Pennies and dimes — is a testimony I wrote about in another post.)

Wednesday, September 10th
I had previously bought a computer reading program for my grandsons to help them with their reading. The program cost $13.77.

They had used it a few times but this day for some reason the program seemed to upset my youngest grandson to tears. He said there were some two-headed monsters in the game and they scared him. He said he wasn’t going to use it anymore and that he didn’t think monsters could teach him how to read better.

It seemed very unusual to me because he is 8 years old, but I could see that it really did bother him and because of that I returned the program and was refunded the $13.77.

Now my checkbook had a balance of $25.55. Now I had enough to buy gas until payday.

Also, at work this same day, a co-worker told me she wanted me to make her a “Cookie Cake” for her granddaughter's birthday on Friday the 12th.
I agreed and told her I would charge her $15.00.

Friday, September 12th
The co-worker gave me $20.00 for the “Cookie Cake” because she liked it so much.

Now I had $20.00 in cash.

Also, a lady came into my workplace that day and asked to buy a used video that I had put in the window just for display. She said she collected that type of video and this was one that she didn’t have. She said if I was willing to sell it she would give me $15.00 for it. I said “Yes.”

Now I have $35.00 cash plus $25.55 in my checkbook.

God supplied

Of course, during the days that followed I needed to spend that money on necessities like gas, groceries, etc. but now I had it to spend, and my needs were met until payday.

That is how God provided for me in those days. He supplied all my needs.
