False Prophets

You will know them by their fruits (Rolls-Royces and Gulfstream jets)

I fell victim to the feel-good prosperity gospel.

When I listened to inspiring sermons by Pastor Joel Osteen, I felt an instant pick-me-up. It was like a shot of caffeine. It made me feel good.

If someone is motivating you to feel your best, then is there even a problem with what they are teaching?

The prosperity gospel or theology is a belief that financial and health blessings are always the will of God, and that faith, positive speech, and donations to religious causes will increase one’s material wealth.

Televangelist Peter Popoff is marketing miracle spring water on cable television. His commercials are full of people stating that they have received thousands of dollars after drinking the miracle spring water and sowing seeds (giving donations to the Popoff ministry).

Popoff is on the used car salesman end of the prosperity gospel. There are others who are on the luxury level of the prosperity gospel, such as Kenneth Copeland and Joel Osteen.

Is preaching the prosperity gospel really a problem?

I say yes.
