Finding Stability in Slippery Places

When our life experiences don’t fit into our pre-suppositional, theological or religious boxes, we risk stumbling.

Many people have left their faith because they cannot reconcile what is happening in their lives with what they believe. i.e. “If God is good, if God is just, if God is love, then why…(fill in the blank with something that contradicts what you believe)?

When we stand at the crossroads of two realities, one temporal and the other eternal, it can be a slippery place and only the eternal God who straddles both realities can show us the big picture.

If we can suspend our worries, doubts and confusion and turn our thoughts toward God, this act of centering ourselves and communing with God begins an important calming process that helps us gain a new perspective.
