When did you join Medium? Why did you join?
I joined Medium in March 2016 as part of a blogging challenge. I liked that I could publish on my personal blogsite (https://saradagen.com) and cross-post here on Medium. Medium provides a canonical link (hidden in the code of the story’s page) that tells search engines which story was the original when you’ve published duplicate content. That keeps search engines from penalizing you for doing that.
I started publishing on Medium in earnest (late 2017) when my Facebook writing group invited Nicole Akers to talk with us about participating in Publishous, a publication on Medium. Part of her sales pitch was that we could get in on the ground floor of the publication — and I did. However, the…
